Best Places to Ice Bath in Perth

I was blown away by the wellness scene in Perth when I visited last year in February. If you thought there wouldn’t be many options for recovery spaces in Perth, all you need to do is a quick google search of ice bath Perth, and you will find a bunch of red dots scattered on the map for places where you can go for your daily hit of hot and cold therapy in Perth, Australia.

Ice baths are a fantastic way to aid muscle recovery, boost circulation, and enhance mental clarity. Everywhere we go, one of our favourite things to do is create a shortlist of the best ice bath and sauna spaces available in an area, and there’s plenty to choose from in Perth.

Whether you're an athlete looking to speed up recovery or just someone seeking a refreshing way to unwind, Perth has some incredible spots to check out for ice baths and saunas and other recovery modalities. In fact, Perth is also the home of the Guinness World Record for the largest group ice bath.

I've scoured the city and found six top-notch places where you can enjoy an ice bath in Perth. Each of these spots offers something unique, from guided meditation sessions to high-energy fitness environments, all with different budgets and slightly different quality of offering in terms of space design and ice bath and sauna product type.

They offer everything from infrared sauna, using beautiful Clearlight saunas, ice baths and Finnish sauna for contrast therapy, as well as floatation therapy and massage.

2. Kaarta Studio

Kaarta Studio Perth

Kaarta Studio is another fantastic spot that you shouldn't miss if your’e after an ice bath in Perth. This studio offers an artistic twist to your ice bath experience with some pretty nice ice baths on offer.

Located in a beautifully designed space, Kaarta Studio in Shenton Park integrates art and wellness, offering a serene environment to unwind and recharge, with a couple of different infrared sauna options and an ice bath that gets super cold.

What they have:

Ice baths, red light therapy, infrared saunas, movement and stretch classes, fire and ice contrast therapy session.

What it costs:

Fire and Ice: $55 for 45 minutes private room

Ice Bath Only: $20 for 15 minutes

What we love:

What I really love is that Kaarta studio offers a super practical ice bath only session if you are purely looking for an ice bath in Perth without any of the other stuff. It is only 15 minutes but this is a great length of time for a few exposures in the ice bath for a rapid and effective recovery session before you carry on with the day.

3. Sweat and Chill

Sweat and Chill offers something truly special, with a standout outdoor vibe for their recovery space. Sweat and Chill is the place to be for ice bath in Perth, along with an outdoor infrared barrel sauna and copper outdoor shower for the ultimate outdoor contrast therapy space.

Located in North Beach WA, Sweat and Chill is known for its contrast therapy, and you will find yourself with a solid sweat after a few rounds in the hot barrel and ice bath.

Definitely book in because they don’t do walk ins and there is limited space!

Services and Costs:

  • Solo session 60 minutes: $40 fire and ice

  • Two people 60 minutes: $70 fire and ice

What We Like it:

I love the open space and the grassy area in between the barrel sauna and ice bath. This is a super simple space with an Infrared Barrel sauna which is a little different to the traditional sauna experience and much more of a dry heat than the wet heat of a rock sauna.

4. Altered States

Altered States is more than just a cool sounding name, and no, they don’t offer hallucenogenic mushrooms with your ice bath. Altered States offers a unique approach to ice baths by integrating them into a variety of sensory experiences.

Think sound therapy, light therapy, and guided visualisations. Altered States is all about altering your state of mind and body to achieve optimal recovery and relaxation.

For those who are curious about exploring the cutting edge of recovery and relaxation techniques, Altered States offers a truly unique and transformative experience.

Services and Costs:

  • Ice baths, sound therapy, light therapy, guided visualisations

  • Cost: $70 per session

What Makes It Unique:

What fascinates me about Altered States is their innovative sensory experiences. It’s perfect for those of us looking to explore new dimensions of relaxation and recovery.

5. Inner Sculpt Perth

Next, we have Inner Sculpt, located in Osborne Park and with a second location currently in progress for Nedlands. The existing Inner Space is a haven those keen on enhancing their physical performance, with a no frills approach to their offering. The facilities are a bit more budget here, with a standard metal ice bath which gets filled with ice, and a very basic infrared sauna. You do, however, have the whole room to yourself to use the sauna and ice bath as you please.

Inner Sculpt Perth offers ice baths as part of their recovery programmes, which include personal training and nutritional advice. It's a holistic approach to health and wellness, making it a top choice for those serious about their fitness journey.

For those of you serious about fitness and looking for a well-rounded approach to recovery, Inner Sculpt Perth provides everything you need to boost your performance and wellbeing.

How much:

  • Ice and Sauna: $75 for 50 minutes block

  • Ice Bath only: $40 for 30 minutes

Why it’s good:

This space is a super simple space if that’s what your’e after. They have a fully private space with the sauna and ice bath all to yourself, and if you love the authentic experience of having actual ice filled in the tub this is your spot.

6. Helix House, Cottesloe

Helix House in Cottesloe is last on the list but definitely one of the nicest spaces on the list. Helix house is more of a private style sauna and ice bath recovery experience, with spaces also in Victoria Park WA, and Randwick Sydney.

Helix House has both infrared and traditional saunas and we love the big Sawo rock heater in the traditional sauna. There is really something that I will always prefer of the experience of pouring water over the rocks in a traditional sauna than an infrared sauna which feels a little bit more sterile and gradual in the heating process.

Beautiful space that suits a couple going for a contrast therapy session, a date, or for a solo visit to switch off and reconnect in a clean and relaxing space.
